Las Vegas High School

Class of 2017

Isabelle received bad news--she was not accepted to the university where she applied. Rather than giving up, she heard about JAG students traveling to the Gigafactory in Reno for job interviews and decided to find out about this. At first, she was uncertain if this was the right path for her, but decided to give it a try. With her JAG Specialist's coaching and support, Isabelle’s interview was a success and she was hired!

Now came the hard part—moving to a new city over 400 miles away. JAG, in partnership with the One Stop Career Center, assisted Isabelle with the cost and process of relocation.

During her first weeks in Reno, loneliness overcame her, but she stuck with her job, her family and her JAG Specialist, and she began to make friends. Isabelle’s Tesla family cares about her as a person, and the pay, benefits and opportunities for the future are amazing!

Being on the line at the Gigafactory and working alongside engineers sparked Isabelle's interest in engineering. "This work woke up a different side of me and opened up a whole new world”.  Now Isabelle is attending Truckee Meadows Community College, learning to code, and aspires to become an engineer and continue her work at Tesla.
