Taylor

Class of 2018

Prior to joining the JAG program, I struggled in some of my classes and did not seek help. Then I met JAG Specialists Ms. McClellan and Mrs. Davis, and a strong bond formed almost immediately.  Instead of continuing to struggle in silence I took advantage of the in-class tutors and the resources JAG provided and began to thrive.  JAG also offered resume workshops, financial literacy workshops and lessons about looking for a job, getting a job and maintaining a job.

Before graduating, I did not have a desire to seek higher education after high school. JAG has offered me so many opportunities that now I am employed with Tesla Motors and will soon be beginning classes at Truckee Meadows Community College where I will pursue my associate’s degree in education.

As a member of the Tesla team, I am employed by one of the most innovative and goal oriented companies in the world, and I am working my way up! I’m thriving in a workplace dominated by men and I am achieving new goals on a regular basis. I plan to complete my associate’s degree in education in the next two years and hope to fulfill my military dream in the future.

JAG’s help didn’t stop when I graduated. Today, when I receive a follow up call/ text from my Specialist, it is the highlight of my day.  JAG feels like a family. Through the support of my mother and the work of my JAG Specialists, my life has changed, and I am on track to a great career!
